N·B·F Architects received the opportunity to design modifications to convert the second floor of the Gryphon Building in downtown Rutland into a contemporary residence hall for Castleton University. The renovation converted approximately 13 office spaces into ten residential suites for Castleton University students. Ranging from two to four bedrooms, each suite contains a living space, kitchenette, and bathroom.
In addition to the ten apartments, the floor houses storage space for janitorial staff, a communal laundry room for residents and a centralized sitting room and study space.
Construction was completed for the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
